As the answer to a riddle perhaps. But in the context of tools like dd, ddrescue, pv etc, "source" in CGS's post is a source of confusion. If, as likely, it's a brain-fart, well, that exactly the problem with these tools: they're unforgiving of brain-farts. Cheers, David.
