Additionally OP:

Can you explain why you are trying to run dhcpcd? You said that the IP
address that's currently up on eno2np1 was given to you as the correct
one to use, so presumably that is statically configured in
/etc/network/interfaces (show us the file contents please) and is how
you are actually connected to the server right now to manage it.

So assuming you are able top SSH to this machine over the network using
that 172 address that's on eno2np1, it does have somewhat functioning
networking and you probably shouldn't be trying to run DHCP which could
very well reconfigure it into something you can't access any mire.

Assuming you are connected by SSH from the local network are you also
coming from an IP address in the same network as the server? If so then
at least host-to-host networking on that network segment works, but
maybe not the wider internet through your default gateway.

The above command will show us what gateway you have configured. You
should check that is correct (ask the same people who told you which IP
address to use) and also for the IP addresses of the nameserver(s) that
you should use.

Once you know those, try pinging those IP addresses.

If you can't ping the default gateway that is problem number 1 to solve,
and it probably means you haven't been given the correct gateway IP.

Thanks,
Andy
