I *wanted* to run Debian, but [I'm having problems with my Rocket-133 controller].
If you have a copy of Knoppix, you might try throwing that into your box and see if it recognizes the controller. Since Knoppix is Debian-based, if it does recognize your controller, you could install Knoppix to your hard drive and have a starting point.
