Dude, that's why Debian is the worst choice for Linux beginners. Your friend should have told you that..... Go get a SuSE, Mandrake or another distribution. But that'll cost ya a few bucks. That may change a bit with the new installer when it is ready. However, Debian is not meant to be installed by beginners.
