I just did an install mid-end of April using stable. A friend helped me upgrade to testing. The only other two things I installed after that was apache and php - both using apt-get. In my /usr/lib folder, the file libmdbodbc.so.0 symlinked to libmdbodbc.so.0.0.0 and the .0.0.0 file is dated Feb 18.
If no further ideas, I'll post a bug to mdbtools. Thanks for the response!
