I don't know why your camera isn't working any more, but I can help with the modules questions: to my knowledge, usb-uhci has simply been renamed to uhci-hcd. The ehci-hcd module is for USB 2.0 support; USB 2.0 controllers apparently generally have "companion controllers" which are UHCI or OHCI, so you get both modules.
