I have a problem to make a 720kb MS-DOS diskette.

I did
        $ fdformat /dev/fd0h720
which worked fine (provided I mask the hole to pretend the HD diskette is just
DD, otherwise the verify exits with an error...)

Then I tried
        $ mformat a:
and got the error
        Non-removable media is not supported
This is with Mtools version 2.0.7, dated 6 Sep 92, that I got last week. Any
hint?

As a general opinion, I'm a bit disappointed by the handling of DOS diskettes
in Linux. I would have hoped this would be MUCH simpler. One should not need to
become root to mount and format the diskettes etc... Or am I just missing some
well known workaround?

        Amities,
