Oops - that lilo.postinst won't work. Run "lilo -r /new_system" instead, and then install "mbr" as it is done in the lilo.postinst script. Until you install both "mbr" and run LILO, the hard disk won't boot.
Also, you need to edit /etc/fstab on the new system to match the hardware.
