Thanks for the reminder. I opted not to say anything about the informal group to reform our voting procedures during the election, because i thought it would be a bit too distracting. That group has settled on a technique for ranking ballots (how to break ties -- circular ties, especially) and is now revisiting issues of supermajority. There's about a dozen other things on the plate, and since discussions are being held serially (one topic at a time) I anticipate that this will take a while. Meanwhile, I see a need to upgrade our voting procedures. These needs come in several flavors -- there's changes to the debvote package (so that people receive feedback on what vote has been recorded, as of what point in time), and there's potential changes to the constitution (I've suddenly acquired a personal distaste for apparently unilateral statements which actually have exceptions). For now, I'm going to suggest wishlist bugs against the "debvote" package and against the "constitution". Of course, usual good practice applies (before filing it's usually a good idea to look and see what other people have filed). And, finally, I do appreciate the humor of the apostrophe discussion, but could we keep it down to "minor distraction" levels? [Maybe try to contribute something positive as well, or even hold off sending in your fabulous contribution until you can think of something useful to say at the same time.] Thanks, -- Raul
