I am new package maintainer and have build over 280 different
packages successfuly for my customers since several years.

I definitivly can not agree with this, since for me it look like a "School",
"Education-Center" or "University" where I NEED to learn something to be
able to do something.
I can not come from the Highschool (12/13 years) to the University
(4 years) study IT and then I come to the Debian.-Project and want
to be DM/DD.
I find the procedure right and the "Mentors" and/or "Advocats" are
the Teachers/Professors which help me to get into the new "business"
Maintaining and Packing for Debian.
I even do not know, whether I want to be DM/DD or not, since all I do
can be done by Packagage-Maintainer only.
I do not think, I feel better, if I change my <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
with an <@debian.org> address.

But if peoples have not enough time (e.g. they can only work 1 hour/week
on Debian-Projects) does this mean, she/he is better, then one who is
working daily with it (like me) since it is my Jog as Debian GNU/Linux
Consultant, while I need to stuck 2 years in the queue and others come
in as the like?

Hmm, but the base would be the same: NM. -- So why not shorten
the NM for those WHO have working Packages and push them into DM
