I might be priviledged in south of Germany (but I hear from friends and relatives the same is true in many other places in Europe), but real situation here is that there are already so many solar panels connected to the grid that, when the sun is shining, the grid is basically saturated with green solar power and any extra solar energy collected is just going to be wasted anyway.
