+1 I've several times (long before trixie) encountered situations (mostly involving package rebuilds) where -security has an implicit dependency on packages from -updates, and if I forget to include -updates in my apt sources then things break. I've never reported it, since it hasn't been clear to me if this is a bug or not. If we could decouple them, and say that -security must work without -updates, that would be fine too, but I assume that is difficult, and it is simpler to document that the reverse as an assumption. /Simon
