Please publish details of the survey that supports that claim. I expected a move to SVN with no CVS legacy interface would lose some translators, but I don't know how many. It seems someone does. Also, I think a decentralised VCS would allow people to experiment with radical changes to www.debian.org (like the oft-mooted new look) more easily and completely.
