This has been observed by at least another NV28 user, see https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50403#c5. Does it still happen with a 3.7 kernel from experimental? BTW, the "Unknown vendor-specific block" message regarding the EDID which you had reported earlier was seen by that user as well.
