Apparently Xorg 1.7.5 hit unstable today, and I upgraded, and the first thing I noticed is that it seems _much_ slower. It's not completely unusable, but it's definitely unpleasant -- with many apps (e.g. Emacs), I can repainting as it progresses down the windows, scrolling is jerky/jump in most everything, repaints and window dragging are very noticeably jerky and flash a lot, etc.
With the previous X release everything was very snappy and there were no apparent performance problems at all for normal usage. I'm not sure exactly where to look for the problem or which package to report bug against tho... any advice? [This is a fairly new consumer-type machine using an intel integrated chipset. Xorg.log says "Integrated Graphics Chipset: Intel(R) Q45/Q43".] Thanks, -Miles -- Quotation, n. The act of repeating erroneously the words of another.
