Hi all, Some days ago I've configured declude junkmail to write a special X-Note in the header of every incoming mail:
X-Note: Sent to %ALLRECIPS%
Now I've written a vb-script, that searches in the junkmail hold folder
for D.*SMD files, and extracts the recipient-addresses from this header
line.
Now the script divides the address in mailbox-name, second- and
top-level-domain. So we're able to search in our customer-database for
mailboxes or aliases and add a counter for every day.
As a result we can now generate reports for every single mailbox or all
mailboxes, and for a flexible range of days. The goal is to send out a
weekly report to our customers.
But now the interesting result:
I've attached the report displaying the sum of hold spam for every
single mailbox for the last 5 days. On the Y-line you can see how many
spam was catched for every single mailbox (X-line)
As you can see the division is not very balanced.
There are only around 20% of our customers receiving at least 1 spam in
5 days. The other 80% doesn't recieve any spam - or said in other words:
we're not able to filter out any spam for this users. Making snap checks
I was not able to find more then single delivered spam messages in this
mailboxes.
On the other side there are a few "super-spam-recipients" recieving an
average of 80 to 100 spams per day.
>From the marketing view it's better when the division is more balanced -
so we can report what we are doing to more customers.
