Well - unfortunately, the bad MAILFROMs and REVDNS come in spurts -
there may be none for most of the day or more. So if I turn on
log=debug is the size of the log file still manageable?

The only thing that I can think of that could cause that is if the DNS
server reported a "server failure" code, which normally shouldn't
happen. The next release will make sure that the server failure code
will
be handled as if the MX (or A) record does exist.
The only way to get more information about the problem is to run Declude
JunkMail in the debug mode, which will report information on what the
DNS
server is reporting.
