I'm looking to actually put our Junkmail protection into production today
(it's been adding info to the headers for 3 weeks, and some customers have
noticed).
I want to base everything off of the weighting system, but have some
questions about what is available to me. I've seen some mention on this list
of "freemail" and other tests, but don't really see any docs to explain
these extras to me. I would like to work AS MANY test into my checks as
possible to provide the best possible protection.
I'm currently thinking of 3 levels.
The "often tripped" and less serious tests would be a 5.
DSN
NOABUSE
NOPOSTMASTER
etc.
The more serious infractions would get a 10.
MAILFROM
PERCENT
ROUTING
SPAMHEADERS
etc.
The "almost definitely SPAM" tests would get a 15.
SPAMCOP
etc.
I want to mark the 15 threshold as SPAM in the subject so my customers can
do their own filtering.
I will probably also HOLD anything hitting a mark of 20 or 30.
I assume this would be as easy as:
# Defined in global.cfg
WEIGHT15 weight x x 10 0
WEIGHT20 weight x x 20 0
# Setup in $default$.JunkMail
WEIGHT15 SUBJECT
WEIGHT20 HOLD
And, of course changing the weights of the individual rules in global.cfg.
I'm assuming that what I've listed above would work, and that I understand
the weighting system correctly. The one thing that would really help me
would be a full list of the types of tests that are available to me, and
their severity (the ones that aren't self-explanatory).
