Another factor that could speed things up would be configuring Declude's log file to LOW. The less Delog has to read the faster it should go. Just because you have 1700 unique messages, it doesn't mean the log file will only contain 1700 lines. The log file can have up to 6000 lines or more, and that's allot for someone to read through.
