We use the subject [SPAM] to indicate that the server thought it was SPAM.
We found that this provokes more user thought than [SPAM??].

1- [SPAM] indicates that some process has actually concluded something about
the email and the user must act in order to correct the problem if it not
SPAM (ie. contact an admin to whitelist the address, etc).

2- If the email is SPAM, then the user feels confident in the servers
ability to determine what SPAM is.

3- [SPAM??] tends to lead the user to dismiss the message as "What are you
asking me for, I don't have time to determine if it is SPAM!"

If the user is asked to do something (determine if the message is SPAM) they
will feel burdened, but if the user thinks the server has done something
wronte (incorrectly determined the message is SPAM) they will feel like a
hero for indentifying the problem to an admin. :-))

Subject: [Declude.JunkMail] Advice for SUBJECT text

Hello...

Installed JunkMail on my corporate mailserver (150 employees), and so far,
I've set the SUBJECT text to [Spam]. My boss thinks it should be something
less definate. He suggests [Spam?] in order to give the impression that the
message *may* be spam.

I'm interested in what other admins who use SUBJECT are doing for your
text, and why.

Thx,
D.
