I have a script that rotates the held spam directory every day and
I still get a relatively high number of duplicate filenames
resulting in spams getting through. May I add to the wish list the
feature of an "overflow" held spam directory to move spams with
duplicate filenames to. It would still not be 100% but should help
reduce the probability of duplicated filenames.
Thanks,
Camil Samaha

That is correct. Unfortunately, IMail occasionally duplicates
filesnames. To prevent this, you need to clear the hold directory
occasionally (either deleting the files, or moving them to another
directory).

There is no hold2 directory, the 2 is just a code to help track
down where
the error is occurring.
