FYI, "that area" is APNIC and RIPE, which handles almost all IP addresses outside of North America (including the U.K., France, Germany, etc.). It shouldn't be too hard to block most of those IP ranges, if you really want to, as they are mostly on Class A boundaries (IE 208.0.0.0/8).
