I think you mean that they can easily forge the "e-mail" address, not the
"IP" address.  ;-)

The IP address that you enter (with the ALLOWIP option) will allow that IP 
address to send unlimited E-mail.  For example, if you have a webserver at 
192.168.112.14 that sends a lot of E-mail, and you don't care how much it 
sends, you could use "ALLOWIP 192.168.112.14".  A spammer will not be able 
to come from 192.168.112.14 (unless he breaks into the server, in which 
case you have a serious security problem, or he forges his IP, which is 
nearly impossible for a spammer to do).

On the other hand, if you want [EMAIL PROTECTED] to send unlimited E-mail, 
that will also allow a spammer to send unlimited E-mail simply by placing 
"[EMAIL PROTECTED]" as the return address.

The key is that the spammer won't forge the IP, but they can easily forge 
the IP address.
