The message id header should be unique and follow the rfc rules.
I THINK that in your case the domain part should be the mail server
domain name rather than the IP. I'm NOT SURE but you might be
able to use the IP if you put it in brackets [ip]. However, I use
the domain name and have no problems. I think it makes some sense
in that an mx can't point to an ip.
