John,

been there - done that (even though I believe it was NOT my fault then <G>).

Anyway, here is how *I* managed that scenario.

I happened to have a little .MDB file that extracted information from the
DECLUDE log file, including the FROM and TO address, the SUBJECT and every
test that an email failed.

I fed this database into a MS Words "mail merge" output to "email" document
and sent a made-up non-delivery report to the SENDER of every email that had
gotten deleted, apologizing and asking them to please resent now.

Then I sent an email to each RECEIPIENT advising them about each email and
subject that had gotten deleted, apologizing and advising them that the
sender had already been contacted to resent - but, if it should be a
time-critical email, they may wish to use to follow-up via phone.

Best Regards
Andy Schmidt
