Normally the spool timer is 30 minutes but that can be changed so you
may have a longer time.  So when you put a message back then it should
send the next time the queue is polled which normally would be up to
the spool timer amount.  However, I've seen messages sit there longer
although I have no real explanation.  I monitor our spool with our
review program so if I see something sitting in there too long I do
just what you did.
