Hi..
Sorry Keith - this is what happened.

Despite our specific robot tags for not having those pages indexed- it
appears that the pages were indexed and guess what will happen and what
words the company are being indexed for? OUCH! - this is what happens when
you try to do good!

A SPAM keyword should not be indexed under your company- not good for PR.

Marcus had suggested that the posting of those keywords and the URL's are
also not going to be good if SPAM'ers find out what is being done. So the
best approach is for this to be protected.

This is what we did to fix the problem.

The URL for the pages are NOT going to be changed. So once you visit the
page simply cut and paste the URL in an auto retrieval program. That is
what we have done. We are using WGET to retrieve these pages as well as
Tom's blacklist once a day at midnight. So our people will simply update
the database and synchronize it with the web server while the mail server
synchs it at midnight.

We have added three additional filters that are also giving good results.

1: Blacklist emails found in body

2: Blacklist entries found in header (naturally if the blacklist is used in
the email it will be deleted, but at times spammers use hotmail in from
field but their return address is the blacklist entry).

3: Freeemails found in body.

These are all given 0 points in the filter since we add a uniform weight to
these filters in the body.

FILTER-BODY-BLACKLIST filter
d:\IMail\Declude\IMail_Filter_BlacklistinBody.txt x 20 0
FILTER-HEADER-BLACKLIST filter
d:\IMail\Declude\IMail_Filter_BlacklistinHeader.txt x 20 0
FILTER-BODY-FREEEMAIL filter
d:\IMail\Declude\IMail_Filter_FreeeMailinBody.txt x 5 0

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Kami

Kami,
I wanted to see if it would be possible to look at your lists,
however, I noticed it required a password. Thank you again.

Hi;

In case you are interested, we have created a simple Access database that
contains all of our entries in for our fromfile and filter files.

Since it is all in the database we thought we can simply replicate it with
the web site and provide it to all to use or consider.

You may want to visit:

http://www.ClickandPledge.com/Support/Mail

The categories are all separated since we have a different file for each
filter type.

Just for the records: We hold on weight 20 so all weights are based on this
weight.

FreeeMail list - should not be used as a blacklist but a weight list. We
add 5 to this list. This list does not contain Hotmail.com or Yahoo.com.
It has other (Yahoo.com.tw) domains.

Hope it helps...

Regards,
Kami
