That is correct (and by design).
We have to use the WHITELISTFILE due to some domains wanting all email from @example.com and I didn't want to force all my customers to get that email as well.
That's exactly what the WHITELISTFILE option is for. For example, some users/domains may want E-mail from companies where they had "kind-of" opted in for E-mail (you know those places where you enter your E-mail address, but don't uncheck the box that says "Allow our partner companies to send you E-mail...").
But if the CEO of some local company is sending E-mail to a customer of yours that must receive it, the WHITELIST FROM option is much easier, and the CEO won't be sending out spam. It's very unlikely in this case that spam would come through as a results of the WHITELIST FROM (whereas it is VERY common if you use "WHITELIST FROM @your_domain.com").
