If you cannot whitelist the IP addresses of your remote users, then I say
you now have a good reason to upgrade your version of IMail. Also note that
most e-mail clients do not connect to a mail server with a fully qualified
hostname, but rather a simple machine name. For example, here is how my
home server announces itself to our IMail server:
Received: from blhome [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] by mail.pointshare.net with
ESMTP
I does not include the domain name, so it would not be affected by the
ForgedHelo filter rule. And even if it was, just add a minimal weight for
failing the test, one that is not high enough to cause your user messages to
be held.
