After identifiying a mail system that is causing our customers problems on
the DNS Reports site, I sent them an e-mail with the link that stated that
their mail system had problems, and could they address it. Mainly their mx
didn't accept postmaster or abuse. Here is their reply:
Actually I wouldn't expect a postmaster account at lower priority MX
server. dnsreports is a good place to start but frequently gives
misleading or incorrect info. You can't just blindly take what it says
as
being correct. You have to know enough about DNS to evaluate it's
results.
Am I missing something here, or did someone start the Crack party early?
Shouldn't any listed MX accept mail to the postmaster account:? And if NOT,
then what circumstances would warrant not accepting it?
Thanks Guys,
Jason
