I don't understand - I thought you said if it was a "gateway" domain (presuming that means it doesn't actually have a host entry in imail, just that imail is acting as a relay for it), to put the REDIRECT in global.cfg. But now you're saying it doesn't look there for REDIRECT?
It is not possible to use the REDIRECT command for gateway domains (unless you have per-user or per-domain settings) since the REDIRECT option will not be used in the global.cfg file.
