Does anyone here know if "LDAP Routing" in MS SMTP will allow you to have MS SMTP to do address verification during the SMTP handshaking?

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/prodtechnol/windowsserver2003/proddocs/standard/smtp_ldap.asp

Essentially the idea here is determining whether or not MS SMTP could be configured in such a way to return a "550 User Unknown" error instead of passing E-mail to non-existant addresses onto IMail if I was using that as a gateway. It seems that it might be possible to do with with LDAP routing, however Microsoft is greatly lacking on any detail about this feature, and it appears that it might only be used to route E-mail after MS SMTP allows the message to be transmitted.

Thanks,

Matt
