I think the general recommendation is to use the 32-bit command line version instead. Check the Declude Virus manual for syntax.
For updating, there have been several contributions to the community to automate the update for servers (not logged in): Checkout http://www.declude.com/tools/ under the "Third party tools for Declude Virus users:" section.
