I agree, it is a waste of resources of time that email messages refer to a mysterious "latest interim" - instead of simply qualifying, "interim 1.76i6". This is just one of those cases where you can't have it both ways -- you can either choose fast fixes with minimal documentation and related services, or standard betas. The thing that is especially good here, though, is that you *do* have a choice. If you don't like the way that interims work, just stick with the betas.
Yes, this does keep coming up. And yes, it would be nice if we could enhance the documentation/services regarding interims. But I just don't see that happening. That's just part of the nature of interims, and why they were introduced. If the drawbacks outweigh the benefits, feel free to stick to betas.
