ed10.com is Mostly good, and an excellent example of how bulk-mailers should operate. Companies of this variety (top-tier bulk-mail providers) generally help companies to clean up their lists and maintain proper practices for things like double opt-in and permanent unsubscribing. ed10.com also employs the best practice of assigning unique IP's and reverse DNS entries to their senders, so you can blacklist a single customer without blacklisting them all. Unfortunately there will be some exceptions.

I've seen companies like FootLocker all of a sudden start sending me E-mail 3 years after I purchased something from them online (this happened a few days ago through ed10.com). This is an unfortunate reality, but it is something that I allow as legit under the definition of spam that I use, so long as they honor my unsubscribe. I generally allow anything that is first-party related for the vast majority of their recipients. A first-party sending third-party ads however is generally not tolerated unless it is on-topic or otherwise related to the reason for establishing a relationship with the first party. This for instance will count as spam things like ads sent by free E-card sites, but it won't count third-party ads (specials) sent by coupon sites since people join such sites for that reason (don't ask me why).

Does anyone have any feedback on E-Dialog.com. It appears their are several reputable companies using them (NFL, Reuters, etc).
