The 2003 Search companion in Sever 2003 sucks - I just moved from a 2000 sever. Does anyone know how to modify its default setting? When I used to dig through held e-mails on the 2000 server I would use it to find and delete e-mail by using the "containing text" field. So when I saw the e-mail was from somespammer.com I would search the spam folder for that and delete all the *smd files containing that text.
NOW when I do the same search I get NO results. When I change the file extension to .txt instead of .smd the search then finds all the files. So M$ decided unless it is a file type in KNOWS it isn't going to bother searching for my string. I tried to create .SMD as a new file type, and a text file to no avail.
