Adding to the other responses: if you aren't specifying any resolvers in the NICs' TCP/IP configs, then applications that don't specify their own resolvers will not be able to resolve addresses, because they won't be pointed to a DNS server! Whether you have available DNS resolvers (servers) running on the same box or on a remote box, the interfaces need to have their resolver(s) specified. There are some applications, like IMail and Declude, that can select a resolver of their own instead of "lifting" it from the interface config, which is why you may see results you don't expect. --Sandy ------------------------------------ Sanford Whiteman, Chief Technologist Broadleaf Systems, a division of Cypress Integrated Systems, Inc. e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] SpamAssassin plugs into Declude! http://www.imprimia.com/products/software/freeutils/SPAMC32/download/release/ Defuse Dictionary Attacks: Turn Exchange or IMail mailboxes into IMail Aliases! http://www.imprimia.com/products/software/freeutils/exchange2aliases/download/release/ http://www.imprimia.com/products/software/freeutils/ldap2aliases/download/release/ --- This E-mail came from the Declude.JunkMail mailing list.
