We have seen this issue alot. We attempted contacting ATT and getting higher than 1st level tech support, but found that to be more difficult than exposing a covert, undercover CIA agent. Finally, we connected with a supervisor, who, with a phone in each ear, told us that the real tech support guys said they were aware of it but nothing could be done.
I later was told about an article which indicated that ATT was going to introduce a new service called 'fast e-mail' (or something similar) for an additional fee. Go figure.
