Well, you would think a big huge giant software company such as Sun Microsystems would create installers that would be intelligent enough to reconginze that there is a previous edition of the software being installed already installed and remove it first, but no it does not do that.
Oh, but the way, I am talking about Java. Every updated version installs itself without first uninstalling the previous version. I think the most I have found on a users computer was 5 versions. All properly listed in Add/Remove programs. In other words, such they should do that but many others do not even though they should as well.
