Here's my understanding of these two options:
/TYPE tells F-Prot to scan all files, regardless of extension, to see if
they are possibly Microsoft files that can be infected by macros (such as
Word documents and Excel spreadsheets).
/DUMB is a generic "scan all documents whatever the extension may be" switch.
With just /TYPE, some file extensions may be scanned for macro viruses, but
not other types of viruses.
