Why would the recommend setting be to leave it "OFF"?  I personally would
rather our system just bit bucket the viri but if there is a sound reason to
leave it OFF then great.
Having the DELETEVIRUSES option set to ON will cause mail to be deleted -- something that we will not do by default. Some of our customers archive the viruses for whatever reason, others have bosses that want their viruses ("I can't ask my colleague to re-send the E-mail just because he has a virus, it'll make me look bad!"). If you want to delete mail, that's fine (that's why the option is there), but we're not going to do it unless you ask. :)
