It means the following happened: 1) select on the FD returned data was available to be read 2) read on the FD returned EAGAIN (meaning data is not available) The two situations are exclusive. I suggest you upgrade your kernel. Why this worked with the slink version probably has to do with timing and/or glibc. Jason
