Please check your facts before making this kind of assumption. apt did no such thing. These packages appear to be intended for potato, despite the claims on the helixcode/ximian website. Perhaps you should try the Debian version of gdm, which is at the same upstream version, and has the correct Debian dependency information. You might also want to report a bug to Ximian. -- - mdz
