a suggestion on an application written in delphi 7 that's using the system tray
including menu's etc: a pop3 program written by a south african : have a look
at www.poptray.org (it included full delphi source code: maybe this will give
you some answers you're looking for.

If you use the JVCL TJvTrayIcon component (it's a big
download, but a free and useful tool), it's very easy.
I used it two weeks ago and it was very simple.
