In another application I am using info about timezones. The files mentioned below also containes a countrylist with the ISO abbreviation for the country.
The link to look for timezone info: http://www.twinsun.com/tz/tz-link.htm The actual files can be retrieved from ftp://elsie.nci.nih.gov/pub/ Get the file: tzdata2005k.tar.gz.
