Do they have Administrator rights to install the MDAC or what else does the
message say,
It might say can not execute MDAC_Typ.exe because .....

Does this happen on all Pcs in their office or just one

Subject: RE: [delphi-en] Component missing

Your link returned an error message but I searched for MDAC and found
version 2.80 for Windows XP while version 2.81 is only for Win2000 and
earlier - it seems that this version should be contained in one of the
Windows updates and/or SP2. Our customer has SP2 installed, so there
really shouldn't be a problem. Nevertheless, I got him to download and
install 2.80 and now he comes back with an error message of
"MDAC_Typ.exe cannot be executed." Any ideas why this could be and what
can be done to overcome this?

TIA.

Brigitte
