Thanks for your response, Marselle.  In searching I noted that most hosts refer 
specifically to what they support, and sometimes ISAPI is included, but most 
often not.  I assume that if tit isn't stated explicitly that they support 
ISAPI then they don't support it.  On second investigation I found that I might 
not be so badly off as I had at first feared . . . . .

an ISAPI is an ISAPI it's just a .dll if a web host can support .cgi it should 
be able to support ISAPI...  the issue would be if you were to talk about doing 
.aspx on a windows host vs a UNIX host.
there are tons of hosting facilities or services out there that offer SQL 
Server as well not sure if any are still using SQL 200 since it's kind of old 
but do a google search
