I use Delphi 2010 at work and write law enforcement software using it. Most of 
my projects are in the 1.2 million lines of code range.

I'd upgrade if I were you - especially if you can get your employer or 
consulting clients to pay for it :-)

More recent versions of Delphi are pretty nice compared to D5. Also, a lot of 
component manufacturers are starting to drop support for older versions of 
Delphi - yours is absolutely ancient :-)

Good luck there, unless you are in/near a big city or can write decent 
shareware. 

On many consulting gigs, you, as the programmer can pick the language you want 
to use, so this would be an opportunity to use your Delphi skills.

This is how I got to use Delphi on my current projects. Most customers just 
want their problem solved and don't care that much how you go about it... as 
long as it works.
