Few months ago I got this brilliant idea about using Google desktop to index my
Delphi
documentation.
I have a large partition with lots of DOC, HTML and PDF file all containing
Delphi tips, FAQs and
snippets and I used Windows Commander to search in that partition.

Google Desktop took 2 weeks to index everything eating my memory, and when was
ready it wasn't
extraordinary, returning to much garbage results.
So I stopped using it after 2 weeks.
Yesterday I’ve tried to uninstall it (and to recover 2 GB of space it need it
for its data base)
and the uninstall process failed.
So I delete the files manually. After restart my Windows didn't load. It really
fucked up my
computer.
Google Desktop seems to integrate itself in Explorer and in the module that
control the Internet
connection (socks provider) and now without those DLL, windows failed to start.

So this is a warning: if somebody else has this 'brilliant' idea, like me,
FORGET IT!!!!

(PS: I was also concerned about the way it installed itself as a server being
connected and
transmitting data all the time to google.com)

...and the traveler died, stroked by the beauty of the landscape.
