[DUG]: Translating Virtual paths to physical paths

I am wanting to write a component to run from my ASP page that will allow me to get 
access to a file that is stored in a virtual path or a specific path.

What I am wanting to know is how to I translate a virtual path into a physical path?

If I have say '/Files how to I get it into a format that my component will handle such 
as 'c:\inetpub\wwwroot\myweb\files'?

any ideas?

ps: I am using DELPHI to write the ASP component....
